Lately, I’ve been learning that real motherhood struggles don’t always look loud or obvious. Instead, they’re often quiet, daily, and deeply layered into everything we do.

For example, some mornings strength looks like waking up tired, yet still getting everyone ready, packing lunches, showing up for work, and pushing through the day even when your own energy is low. However, other days strength simply looks like doing the bare minimum just to get through and that’s okay too.

🧠 The Invisible Mental Load

In addition, being a mom, working, and trying to maintain balance is not always easy. On the outside, people may only see what’s visible. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, there is so much more happening that often goes unspoken.

For instance, there is the mental load of constantly planning ahead, the pressure to stay consistent for everyone else, and the feeling that you’re expected to hold everything together without falling apart.

💭 The Thoughts We Don’t Always Say

Lately, I’ve had moments where I’ve questioned whether I’m doing enough or keeping up the way I “should.” However, I’m slowly realizing something important: motherhood is not about perfection, it is about presence.

Even more importantly, presence still counts, even on the messy days when nothing feels fully together.

🔁 Redefining Strength in Real Life

Strength, as I’m learning, is not about doing everything at 100% all the time. Instead, it is about continuing forward with what you have in that moment.

Sometimes, strength looks like:

  • Showing up at 40%
  • Pushing through at 60%
  • Doing your best with the energy you have that day

Because of this, I’ve started to see that even reduced energy does not mean reduced effort or love.

🌸 Giving Yourself Grace

Not every week will be productive, and not every moment will feel balanced. Additionally, not every part of life will fall into place at the same time.

However, that does not mean you are failing, it simply means you are human.

As mothers, we carry so much quietly. We show up even when we are tired, and we love deeply even when we feel stretched thin. Still, we continue forward, even when no one fully sees the effort behind it all.

🫶🏾 A Gentle Reminder

If you are currently in a season where things feel heavy, here is something to hold onto:

You do not have to be perfect to be strong.

Right now, my own strength looks softer. It looks like slowing down when needed, protecting my peace, being present with my daughter, and letting go of unnecessary pressure. Most importantly, I am learning that rest is not a setback, it is part of growth

🌤️ Final Thought

Ultimately, life has been teaching me that strength does not always mean pushing harder.

Sometimes, it simply means allowing yourself to breathe.

And honestly, that kind of strength feels the most real of all 💝
